Ongoing assessment involves evaluation of the child's progress over time.  This will include documentation of progress on a daily basis through face-to-face summary sheets written by the SLP with input by the family, quarterly reports summarizing progress over three months, and annual progress reports and re-evaluations if necessary.  Formal testing is typically completed prior to beginning therapy and then on an annual basis though possibly more often if the child is close to dismissal or demonstrates a change in services needed.
