Asha L. Kintner, M.A., CCC-SLP, a pediatric speech language pathologist (SLP) began Family Times in 2006 to address the shortage of SLPs and caregivers providing family-centered therapy in Hancock, Southern Madison, Northern Shelby, Hamilton and Henry counties.  Family Times offers a unique range of communication services including family-centered individual therapy, communication skill groups, workshops, in-services and consultation.   Flexible scheduling, flexible payment plans, and flexible treatment options meet each family's individual needs and each child's individual learning style.    Contact us for more information.
 

Asha lives with her husband and two young children in the local area and has provided services to the surrounding areas for over thirteen years.   She has served as a public preschool speech language pathologist (SLP) and school age SLP serving students through high school.  She has also worked as an Early Intervention Specialist through Indiana's First Steps system.  Asha received a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology with a minor in Spanish from Ball State University receiving a Dean's Citation for Academic Excellence for a 4.0 GPA.  Asha is certified by the American Speech Language & Hearing Association, holds Indiana licensure, and maintains a School Services Personnel License through the state of Indiana.  In addition, she is Hanen Certified (www.hanen.org) and has significant continuing education in social skills, articulation and phonological disorders, language and literacy development, sensory integration, early childhood development, family-centered practice, response to intervention, and sign language.  She has experience working with children with Down's Syndrome, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Asperger's, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Selective Mutism, Late-Talking Children, Developmental Delays, and many other diagnoses.  

Asha has led workshops for parents, educators, SLPs, and other therapists ranging from using children's literature for language enrichment to Sensory Integrating for Speech Sound Success!  She has served as an advocate for children and families in the public schools and First Steps and upholds a firm belief that parents are the experts on what is best for their children!
